Away at a conference with the most un-academic back drops ever.

The rooms in Clare College Cambridge knock Goodricke/Vanburgh for, oh, about a million. Two bedroom suite, comfy chairs, internet. I was tempted to not bother leaving to go to the conference, but the walk to breakfast was certainly worth leaving for

I also have to confess that I've finally seen the point of twitter. When you're at a conference, and people are putting out stuff being able to see a live feed filtered by the conference tag makes for a good way for finding out what's going on and for quick feedback. Makes the Guardian's move make more sense. Please note however that this is not a call for people to import their twitterings into LJ. That's still annoying.
